There’s something utterly captivating about holding a piece of art that feels like it was pulled straight from the pages of a centuries-old journal. At Pollyanna’s Antiques, we’re thrilled to share our latest collection of Sid Dickens Memory Blocks — those beloved handcrafted wall tiles that have been enchanting collectors around the world for decades.

Each Memory Block is a miniature masterpiece, hand-poured and hand-finished in Sid Dickens’ Vancouver studio using a signature blend of plaster and resin. What makes them so special is the way they capture fragments of history, nature, and imagination in a format that transforms any wall into a gallery of stories.

A Trio of Treasures

Our current collection features three stunning pieces. The first showcases an ornate skeleton key layered over faded handwritten script — a poetic reminder of doors once opened and secrets once kept. The aged, parchment-like finish gives it the warmth of a discovered love letter.

The second block presents a magnificent bare winter tree, its intricate branches reaching across a crackled, weathered surface. There’s a quiet strength in this piece, a sense of endurance through seasons that resonates with anyone who appreciates the beauty of nature’s architecture.

The third tile draws from the world of classical botanical illustration, featuring lush fruit and foliage with the inscription “Au Roy” — a nod to French heritage and the grand tradition of still life painting. The rich earth tones and layered textures make this one feel like a fragment salvaged from a Parisian antiquarian’s wall.

The Art of Collecting

Sid Dickens Memory Blocks are designed to be mixed, matched, and arranged in groupings that tell your own story. Whether displayed as a trio like ours or woven into a larger gallery wall, each block adds depth, texture, and a whisper of the past to your home.

Stop by Pollyanna’s Antiques in downtown Mt. Clemens to see these Memory Blocks in person — photographs simply can’t capture the way the light plays across their textured surfaces. We’re open Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM, and we’d love to help you find the perfect piece for your wall.
